In 2024 we were thrilled to receive funding to bring The Body Room to Goldsmiths University for a 2 week installation, working in partnership with Dr Marina Rova.
With our largest space to date, a room within the Richard Hoggart building at Goldsmiths University, we set about creating an intimate, private space for our guests appointments.
We were thrilled with the spacious creative zone we were able to create. Plus we had plenty of room for comfy seating for reflective thought and a generous snack-zone for our guests.
The Body Room is an admin-intense exercise. This time our guests came from the Goldsmiths staff and student body, the local community and even some passionate followers, who travelled from outside London to experience an appointment at The Body Room.
To conclude our residency at Goldsmiths University, we were thrilled to share a Visual Installation in the Whitehead Building overlooking the college green. We got to work creating amalgamated collages of our guests' work and painting the windows!
We also a presented an installation of The Body Room, complete with words from our guests, and we were thrilled to host an Artist & Research talk alongside Dr Marina Rova.
We have co-written a chapter with Dr Marina Rova, which further documents this edition of The Body Room, and are awaiting publication in autumn 2025.
The chapter is titled "Exploring radical self-care and community empowerment through The Body Room" and will be published by Routledge as part of the anthology "Practice Research through Creative Bodies: Perspectives on Embodied Inquiry".
